Singer: Norah Jones

Norah Jones, born Geetali Norah Jones Shankar on March 30, 1979, is an American singer, songwriter, and pianist known for her soulful voice and blend of jazz, pop, and country music.

The daughter of Indian sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar and concert producer Sue Jones, she grew up in Texas and studied jazz piano at the University of North Texas before moving to New York City.

Jones gained widespread recognition with her debut album, Come Away with Me (2002), which showcased her soothing vocals and piano-driven melodies. The album was a massive commercial success, winning five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, and featured hits like “Don’t Know Why” and “Come Away with Me.”

Her subsequent albums, such as Feels Like Home (2004) and Not Too Late (2007), continued to receive critical acclaim and commercial success. Jones is celebrated for her ability to cross musical genres effortlessly, blending elements of jazz, blues, folk, and country into her music.
