Singer: Joan Jett

Joan Jett, born Joan Marie Larkin on September 22, 1958, in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, is an iconic American rock singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer.

Often referred to as the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” Jett is best known for her work with the band Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, as well as her pioneering role in the all-female rock band The Runaways.

Jett’s career began in the mid-1970s when she co-founded The Runaways at the age of 16. The band achieved significant success, particularly in Japan, with hits like “Cherry Bomb.” After The Runaways disbanded, Jett pursued a solo career and eventually formed Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. The band’s 1981 album I Love Rock ‘n Roll catapulted her to international fame, with the title track becoming one of the most iconic anthems in rock music.

Jett’s music is characterized by her gritty vocals, powerful guitar riffs, and rebellious spirit. Throughout her career, she has been a trailblazer for women in rock, breaking down barriers in a male-dominated industry. In addition to her musical achievements, Jett is a co-founder of the independent record label Blackheart Records. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015, solidifying her status as a rock legend.
