Halsey, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane on September 29, 1994, in Edison, New Jersey, is an American singer, songwriter, and activist. Known for her distinctive voice and confessional lyrics, Halsey gained popularity in the mid-2010s with her blend of electro-pop, indie, and alternative music.

She initially gained attention by posting songs on social media platforms and later released her debut EP, Room 93, in 2014. Her debut album, Badlands (2015), was a commercial success, featuring hits like “Colors” and “New Americana.” Halsey continued to rise to fame with subsequent albums, including Hopeless Fountain Kingdom (2017), Manic (2020), and If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power (2021). Some of her most notable tracks include “Closer” (with The Chainsmokers), “Without Me,” and “Graveyard.”

Beyond her music, Halsey is known for her advocacy on issues such as mental health, racial equality, and LGBTQ+ rights.
