Actor: Viola Davis

Viola Davis is an American actress and producer, born on August 11, 1965, in St. Matthews, South Carolina. She is widely recognized as one of the most talented and respected actresses of her generation, known for her powerful performances in film, television, and theater. Davis made history as the first African American to achieve the “Triple Crown of Acting,” winning an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, and a Tony Award.

Davis gained widespread acclaim for her role in the 2008 film Doubt, which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

She went on to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Fences (2016), a film adaptation of the August Wilson play in which she also starred on Broadway, earning a Tony Award for the same role.

On television, Davis made a significant impact with her portrayal of Annalise Keating in the hit series How to Get Away with Murder (2014–2020). Her performance earned her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, making her the first African American woman to win in that category.
